Anne F. Mian, MD

Dr. Anne F. Mian, MD is the co-founder and CEO of Florida Psychiatric Associates. She is a neuropsychiatrist with biopsychosocial orientation. Her practice includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for accurate diagnosis. She provides effective medical management of psychiatric disorders with psychotropic medications and cognitive behavioral interventions.

Dr. Mian is Diplomate American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She was Board Certified in Adolescent Psychiatry and had additional Certification in Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Mian completed her residency training at Texas Tech University in El Paso, TX in 1994 where she was the chief resident and spent her elective rotations in child psychiatry.

She has extensive experience both in inpatient psychiatry and outpatient treatment of psychiatric disorders. In addition she has administrative experience and some research experience while working as Medical director of ACT corporation, a Community Mental Health Clinic, from 1994 to 1999.

In last six years, she has dedicated herself to outpatient management of serious psychiatric and behavioral disorders. Her goal is to minimize hospitalization and improve the functional level of her patients through treatment that is effective and well tolerated.She is a gifted clinician known for her clinical judgement and diagnostic accuracy. She is a caring physician who develops excellent rapport with her patients ,most of whom have been her clients for years. Her patient population ranges from age 12 to age 99 due to her interest in adolescent population and her experience with medically compromised and geriatric patients.

Dr. Mian's specializes in management of mood disorders; including, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders.

Dr. Abid R. Mian, MD

Dr. Abid R. Mian, MD is the co-founder of Florida Psychiatric Associates. Dr. Mian completed his residency in adult psychiatry at Texas Tech University in El Paso, TX in 1991. He was in private practice in El Paso until 1994. He joined a large mainly outpatient group practice in Orange County in 1994 and served there for 18 years. He is a psychiatrist known for his empathy and compassion for his patients and excellent clinical skills.. He is an expert in clinical diagnosis and treatment of major mental illness. He has in depth knowledge of psychopharmacology, which is essential for effective and safe medication management.

In the last two years, he has been affiliated with Lake Side Alternatives and University Behavioral Hospital in Orange County, FL. This added experience has given him a deeper understanding of psychosocial problems of clients with mental health issues. He has a cognitive behavioral approach to problem solving which he incorporates in his treatment.
